THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE

This week our two finalists will be competing at the CIF Finals at Cerritos College in Cerritos. Cerritos College is located at 11110 Alondra Blvd., Norwalk, CA 90650. From Beckman take Bryan to Culver, right on Culver to the I-5 Freeway north, to the I-91 Freeway West. Drive about 8 miles to Studebaker Road. Turn right on Studebaker to Alondra Blvd. and the school.  Field events will start at 11:00 AM; running events will start at 12:00 PM. It is expected to be very warm, so make sure that you bring a lot of water and Gatorade. Please come out and support these fine athletes at this very high level of competition.

 ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • 1) Uniforms must be turned in now by all athletes who are done for the season. A hold on an athlete's account will take place for those who have not turned in their uniforms. Lost items will be paid for by the athlete.
  • 2) Make sure that you log on to our web site regularly. The address is http://www.gopatriotsrunning.com/. This is the only way that I will communicate with the team this season (other than verbally).
  • 3) Sign Ups for our summer running program are now open. I have a supply of forms for the athletes, or you can download a form on the Beckman Athletic web site (http://www.beckmanathletics.org/). The cost is still only $120 for the 6 week program. Let's get a record number of athletes participating this summer.
  • 4) Our High Altitude Camp is a go for 8/21/09 in Big Bear. This is our first high altitude training camp. It promises to be great fun with a lot of work and the benefits are staggering for those who participate. There is limited enrollment as space is limited, so sign up right now or lose out. I have forms or you can download forms from our web site by clicking HERE.

Congratulations to all of our Beckman Track & Field athletes for a very fine season. I and the coaching staff are very proud of all of you for what you have accomplished.

I want to give a big thanks to all of the assistant coaches who are out there every day working with the athletes and developing them and their skills. Their dedication and hard work are showing in the athletes they work with. Please come out and shake their hands and get to know them.

Remember - "Be proud of what you have accomplished, but do not be satisfied. Prepare yourself for your next challenge and dare to excel!"

Good luck this week! Go Patriots!!
